Another feminist leaves the Democratic Party
From No Quarter: Dr. Lynette Long shares why she is voting McCain/Palin...finally a diehard feminist that GETS IT....the Democratic Party is NOT for women....."The Democratic Party is not our ally. The Democratic Party is 60% women but it has only once selected a woman as a vice-presidential candidate and that was nearly a quarter of a century ago. We are chattel in our own party. The head of the Democratic National Committee has never been a woman. Money donated to the Women’s Leadership Fund is funneled into the Obama Victory Fund. We cannot give dominion over our bodies or ourselves to one party. Current feminist groups have no teeth because they are part and parcel of the Democratic Party. They are held hostage by Roe v. Wade. They know it and the Democratic Party knows it. The only way to regain our power is to regain our vote. The Democratic Party has no reason to earn our vote. We’ve sacrificed one choice for another.
I will by not be held hostage by the Democratic Party that turned a blind eye to the corruption in the Democratic primaries and Democratic caucuses.
I will not be held hostage by the Democratic Party that ignored a woman who got 18 million votes.
I will not be held hostage by the Democratic Party a party that was deaf, dumb and blind to the persistent and pervasive sexist attacks against Hillary Clinton.
I will not be held hostage by a Democratic Party that has never had a female head of the DNC.
I will not be threatened into submission. I will not cast my vote based on fear.
The Democratic Party cannot be rewarded for its pervasive disrespect of women. Sometimes you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. Sometimes you have to tear down a house before you can rebuild it. Most feminists think the Democratic Party will treat them differently during the next election. There is no next time. There is only this time. Reinforcing abuse only perpetuates abuse. In any abusive relationship, you have to leave to get respect. Abusers are often charming and apologetic and hold out the hope of better behavior. But there is no then, there is only now.
I am a woman and I am a feminist. To the other feminists out there I ask, “Where is your pride or are you a victim of your own misogyny?”
I am a woman and right now I am ashamed to say, I am a feminist.

Democrats played with YOUR dollar and YOU lost
My editorial: Partisan politics were played today and the American people were duped. Most people are not fully aware of how the two party system works. When a 'majority' rules in Congress. When there is 'dissent' there are 'carrots and sticks' that can be used to bring members 'into line.'
95 democrats voted NO on a bill today when Pelosi declined to make the bill a 'party loyalty vote'. By calling this a 'Bush bill' or a 'Republican issue' the Democrats are LYING. The Democratic leadership of the party played political games and didn't do what they usually would do to ensure the passage of the bill. The Democrats did NOT want this bill to pass for a variety of reasons which include the Acorn issue that was removed and this economic mess plays well for Obama. It is ALL about party politics. The Democrats did NOT need Republican approval for this bill and could have passed it if they wanted to. By having 95 of their own party members vote NO they ensured it would not pass NO MATTER WHAT.
From TownHall Beldar: "Another thing about which there can be no disagreement is that what was defeated today was a Democratic bill. H.R. 3997 has had a complicated procedural history that was controlled at every step of the way by Congressional Democrats.
Specifically, H.R. 3997 was originally introduced by Rep. Charles D. Rangel (D-NY) as an amendment to the tax code "to provide earnings assistance and tax relief to members of the uniformed services, volunteer firefighters, and Peace Corps volunteers." By a pair of affirmative votes earlier today, however, a resolution offered by Rep. Louise M. Slaughter (D-NY) effectively converted H.R. 3997 into the "Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008." It too was drafted by Congressional Dems and their staff, varying substantially from what had originally been proposed by Secretary Paulson and the Bush-43 Administration, and incorporating only such requests and suggestions from the House GOP as the Democratic leadership decided to agree to.
This is the Democratic Congress' bill, but when it came to a roll-call vote in the House, the Democratic leadership wouldn't do what it took to get it passed even though (a) they have a huge majority and (b) a full one-third of Republicans in the House went along. Karl Rove: Pelosi played games today.....those that voted NO owed their committee positions to Pelosi....this was a PLANNED Dem no vote today.....she lied, to all of us, and is currently risking the health of the American economic system for partisan political gain

. That’s O.K. I’m going to have to get my dry cleaning going too.” said Obama at a political rally. this came as he condemned McCain for having dinner with his wife in DC....
In the meantime: "Congressman Peter DeFazio (D. Or.) said that Nancy Pelosi and the House Democratic leadership always assumed that the bailout bill would pass. As a result, they failed to lean hard enough on people like DeFazio and other House Democrats who were allowed to vote "no" as a matter of conscience.
Once again, Nancy Pelosi & Co. couldn't count votes within their own caucus, failed to understand that getting votes from the Republican Caucus would be difficult enough under ordinary circumstances, completely misread the mood of the House and failed to pass the bailout bill. As the majority party, the Democrats bear the responsibility for this failure. If the Speaker's gavel is too heavy for Nancy Pelosi, she should give it to someone else and if the House Democrats can't lead in a time of crisis, they ought to step aside and let someone else do the work.

Hastings, who is African-American, was explaining what he intended to tell his Jewish constituents about the presidential race. “Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks."
No Republican could get away with this. "I didn't leave the Democratic Party...the Party left me." (Ronald Reagan....and ME)...this same group of misguided and unenlightened people have the nerve to verbally manipulate ME by trying to shame me into voting their candidate by calling ME a bigot cause I have a BRAIN....I don't pay attention to the Daily KOS for my info on current events...
