US troops won't be used to stop illegal immigration: US
WoW!! This is sooo reassuring...NOT. The troops (1 per 1000 square miles by the way) were sent as a smoke and mirrors peace offering......The Mexican President called B.O. and now the troops will only be doing the equivalent of 'desk jobs' because we don't want to OFFEND the mexican government???? Are you kidding me???
Arizona and Texas are pleading for help along our vast and dangerous border and the troops weren't even enough to do anything in the first place, but for OUR President to backdown because of the Mexican President's request is ludicrous and insulting to the American People!
By the way, please note that our President told Texas to 'be on the lookout' for Somalia Terrorists that will be coming across the border!!! WHAT???? Be afraid....Be VERY afraid.

Unremembered acts of kindness and love.......
Today my Grandmother, Mary Alice Fike Pigg, would have been 100 years old. She was blessed to have lived to be 95 and so acknowledging her 100 birthday does not seem that absurd to me.
My Grandmother had the most profound influence on my life. I had 43 years of her presence in my life and much of who I am today can be attributed to the many hours she and I spent together.
She collected pigs because she was proud of her married name. She had thousands of pigs in various shapes, sizes, color, style and type. Pig banks, spoons, cups, coins, bowls, diapers, bibs, and even toilet paper! Every time she received a baby announcement she gave a pig of some sort.
Grandmother was a collector. Walking through her house was one never ending adventure and she could tell you the story of each treasure. She collected little silver spoons because she had the collection of her mothers. Each place she went was commemorated with a little spoon.
Antique irons of her mother's. Antique fountain pens of her father's. The delicate silk hankies of her mother's. She gave me the 48 star flag of her Uncle John and I even have the wooden hand that he crafted for himself after he lost his hand in an accident in the 1920's.
Most of all, she collected people. She never met a stranger and she instantly made you a friend. She struck up conversations with anyone she met and because of her years in Tempe she most often found that she knew someone in their family. She could recognize people she taught 40 years prior and would shock people with that recognition.
She loved stories and everyone had a story. YOU became a part of HER story in some small way. She wove a tapestry with people, experiences, and things. She loved telling her stories and she loved telling the stories of Arizona. She could remember EVERYTHING. Her memory astounded everyone. I loved listening to her stories.
Her kindness and loved stretched to everyone. She lived a life trying to make everyone else feel better. She taught 36 plus years and being her student was a pleasure. She made you feel special just as she made my cousins and I feel special. We would all find ways to pretend to be sick so we could spend the day with our Grandma.
I miss my Grandma. I miss her smiling face and her wisdom. I miss her energy and her faith. I miss her example and influence in my life. I hope someday that I can be the strong woman that she was.
But...I know families are forever and I KNOW I will see my beloved Grandmother again someday. I can't wait for that day.

G-d....why write it like that? and other questions
I have been asked numerous times why is the ""o" always missing when the words G-d or L-rd are written.
Basically its because Jews do not write the name G-d or L-rd. It has to do with the commandment about taking G-d's name in vain. It is believed that if the name was written on a piece of paper and the paper was crumpled, discarded, or destroyed it would be considered a sin.
I have applied it to my everyday writing in regards to a respect for our G-d.
PASSOVER SEDER PLATE:
1)Haroset---apples, honey, nuts, cinnamon to symbolize mortar of building the pyramid and the land of milk and honey
2)PARSLEY in salt water---salty tears shed
3)egg--life
4)lamb shank---paschal lamb----for us Lamb of G-d
5)bitter herbs---bitterness of slavery and wandering in the desert 40 years
Read the Haggadah (the story of Exodus, 10 plagues, and Moses)
Take this time to find a way to celebrate Passover...Passover was being celebrated by our L-rd when he was breaking the bread with his disciples. Jes-s was a jew and well verses and practiced in the traditions. He fulfilled the Law.
Teaching our children about Passover teaches them another dimension of our Savior and places everything into one great whole. Check it out and enjoy.
http://www.holidays.net/passover/
"Whether or not a Christian celebrates Passover would be a matter of conscience for the individual Christian. Like all the Old Testament Jewish Feasts, the Passover Feast was a foreshadowing of Christ’s atoning work on the cross. Colossians 2:16-17 tells us that we should “let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ” (NKJV). Christians are no longer bound to observe the Passover feast the way the Old Testament Jews were, but they should not look down upon another believer who does or does not observe the Passover or other special Jewish days and feasts (Romans 14:5)."
"While it is not required for Christians to celebrate the Passover, it is beneficial to study it and could be beneficial to celebrate it if it leads to a greater understanding and appreciation for Christ’s death and resurrection. The Passover is a wonderful picture of Christ’s atonement for His people and His deliverance of us from the bondage of sin. That is something we should celebrate every day of our lives."
Whatever your choice learn about others and enjoy the celebration of our Savior's Resurrection and the fact he LIVES!

Been away too long....
I have not posted in awhile...so much has happened politically and at times I am frustrated and defeated by the direction I see my beloved country head. I am a student of history. I see what is happening and I remember the lessons of Facing History and Ourselves.....teach it lest we repeat it......how easily humans forget.
Like the Israelites that wandered in the desert for 40 years we, as Americans, are wandering in our land because we have lost our way. We are wandering because we have lost sight of our G-d. We have lost our Spiritual Eyes and have lost our way. The Israelites had to be tried and tested repeatedly because they forgot their G-d. They repeatedly turned to false gods because they forgot to keep their eyes on high on the Lord.
This passover week leading in to Easter we must remember that all is not lost in America. WE have hope eternal. We must keep our faith and we must work to save our beloved country AND ourselves.
Christ celebrated passover by teaching the Disciples that HE was the Paschal Lamb they learned of in their Hebrew youth. HE was/is the Bread and Breath of Life Eternal. We no longer have to eat bitter herbs to remind of us of the bitter trials in our lives (our own wandering in the desert). We no longer have to eat apples and honey to remind us of the sweetness of the Promised Land, although we could. We no longer have to eat passover lamb because Jesus is THE LAMB OF G-D.
As Easter approaches remember that our Savior suffered, died and rose again for US because he LOVES us. He sacrificed so that we may LIVE.
I KNOW my Savior loves me and he sacrified for me. I know that we are here to live and learn so that we may prove ourselves faithful. We no longer have to wander aimlessly and without hope. We must keep our eyes high so that we might SEE.
As I watch my country in these times I keep my faith and my hope. I have to......I have no other choice or I would feel defeated and wandering in MY own desert of despair.

I'm BACK........
I took a much need break from politics. Seeing Sarah Palin today inspired me again. My daughters came with me to meet her and we waited in line 5 hours to be in the 800's to have her sign our book and get a photo with her. She was gracious, well respected, inspiring and worth waiting for.
The lunatic fringe element of my mother and brother viewed the day's excursion as 'vomit' inducing and joyless as they so freely drink the koolaid.......all while believing that my liking her makes ME the lunatic fringe element of the family. When both groups are so far from center do they eventually end up at the same spot? It is all in the perspective I guess.
GO SARAH!

I TOLD YOU SO...I TOLD YOU SO...TOLD YA ..TOLD YA..TOLD YA SO!
From Gateway Pundit: The House passed the Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act on Monday. The bill includes language indicating young people will be forced to participate in mandatory national service programs. The bill also states that "service learning" will be a mandatory part of the youth curriculum. That doesn't sound much like "volunteerism" does it?
The Hitler Youth Plan was just passed by the US House this week.
The mandatory youth plan requires America's youth to participate in mandatory service youth programs. But that's not all.
The mandatory youth plan also forbids members from attending religious services and forbids youth from witnessing their religious beliefs.
The Voice Magazine reported, via Free Republic:
Is this the change you really voted for? President Obama has only been in office for two months. Now we have HR 1388. The Bill was sponsored by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) with 37 others. The Bill was introduced to the floor of the House of Representatives where both Republicans and Democrats voted 321-105 in favor. Next it goes to the Senate for a vote and then on to President Obama.
This bill’s title is called “Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education” (GIVE). It forms what some are calling “Obama’s Youth Brigade.” Obama’s plan is require anyone receiving school loans and others to serve at least three months as part of the brigade. His goal is one million youth! This has serious Nazi Germany overtones to it.
The Bill would forbid any student in the brigade to participate in “engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.” That means no church attendance or witnessing.
Again, is this what America voted for? Here is part of the HR1388 Bill’s wording:
SEC. 1304. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.
Section 125 (42 U.S.C. 12575) is amended to read as follows:
SEC. 125. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.
(a) Prohibited Activities- A participant in an approved national service position under this subtitle may not engage in the following activities:
(1) Attempting to influence legislation.
(2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes.
…
(7) Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.

More... Beto Ochoa reminds us that this bill directly goes against the US Constitution:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,
or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
or abridging the freedom of speech,
or of the press;
or the right of the people peaceably to assemble,
and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Not that this bothers the Democrats.

Palin AGAIN?
It is extremely funny to me that the people keeping Gov. Palin in the media are WOMEN who hate her. They just can't let it go. Anonymous leaks ala National Enquirer style actually make national news night after night after night?
We get it already. The messiah won the election. Now why is Gov. Palin still a thorn in the side of so many people? 1) She is a very successful woman who came 'this close' to the Presidency and the left and the crazy left leaning Republicans have to make sure she will not be a threat in 2012. 2) Pro-abortionists hate her PRO LIFE values. 3) Weak minded liberal leaning (no matter what party) women hate ALL she stands for. They just can't handle her. They knock her as 'not woman enough' and 'not a real feminist' because she doesn't support the killing of LIFE.
The BIGGEST detractors of Palin are women. I can't say that enough. Women who think they are enlightened, intellectual, intelligent, progressive....she made it and they didn't. Women are the worst at supporting women. They always have been and they always will be. We aren't any further ahead in our women's rights issues than we were 100 years ago. Sure, we have the vote, but what good is it? Women are going to bring each other down no matter what.
The left leaning women will only be happy when the women THEY approve of hits the scene. I can guarantee this. She will not represent 50% of the women in the US.
one of my “sisters” is Camille Paglia (http://www.salon.com/opinion/paglia/2008/11/12/palin/index1.html):
“I like Sarah Palin, and I’ve heartily enjoyed her arrival on the national stage. As a career classroom teacher, I can see how smart she is — and quite frankly, I think the people who don’t see it are the stupid ones, wrapped in the fuzzy mummy-gauze of their own worn-out partisan dogma. So she doesn’t speak the King’s English — big whoop! There is a powerful clarity of consciousness in her eyes. She uses language with the jumps, breaks and rippling momentum of a be-bop saxophonist. I stand on what I said (as a staunch pro-choice advocate) in my last two columns — that Palin as a pro-life wife, mother and ambitious professional represents the next big shift in feminism. Pro-life women will save feminism by expanding it, particularly into the more traditional Third World.
“As for the Democrats who sneered and howled that Palin was unprepared to be a vice-presidential nominee — what navel-gazing hypocrisy! What protests were raised in the party or mainstream media when John Edwards, with vastly less political experience than Palin, got John Kerry’s nod for veep four years ago? And Gov. Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas, for whom I lobbied to be Obama’s pick and who was on everyone’s short list for months, has a record indistinguishable from Palin’s. Whatever knowledge deficit Palin has about the federal bureaucracy or international affairs (outside the normal purview of governors) will hopefully be remedied during the next eight years of the Obama presidencies.”
As Dennis Miller says: "Women are mean to other women." and reminds us of how Katie 'softball' Couric was treated on the scene. Too bad she had to dish out to another woman what had been done to her.

THANK YOU VETERANS
Dear Veterans: Thank you for fighting for freedom. Thank you for fighting for us. Thank you for doing what most of us would not be willing to do. I am grateful to those in my family who HONORABLY served (my Dad and his 3 brothers, my Grandfather, my Great Uncle, my stepfather)) their country. We take for granted the freedoms we have because others have fought for that right. We dishonor their sacrifice when we do not honor them.

Why are liberals afraid of Governor Palin?
The election is over. The angry liberal candidate won. So why does the liberal left continue to go after Governor Palin? Detractors of Palin, Rep. and Dem. alike, like to blame Palin for McCain's election loss. They forget one thing. McCain lost because he was not REPUBLICAN enough. Palin was chosen because she is PRO-LIFE, PRO-GUN, PRO-DRILL, PR0-TAX CUTS. In a word, REPUBLICAN.
Get this 'factual' (snort...said with heavy sarcasm) report from Newsweek:
"Apparently, according to Newsweek, Gov. Palin refused to appear onstage with a New Hampshire Senator and a New Hampshire Senate candidate because they are pro-choice. (H/T).
Except that the Senator in question, John Sununu, is pro-life.And except that the other candidate wasn't running for the Senate (Newsweek may have missed this, but Sununu was up for re-election, so there were not two Republicans running for the job this year).
And except that she did do public appearances with both men.
And except that she did make public appearances with other pro-choicers.
But you know, other than getting basically every possible fact wrong, Newsweek's doing OK there.(redstate.com)
Michael Eisenstadt, supposed McCain aide, who has been 'leaking' negative info about Governor Palin an supposedly confessed on his own blog is a HOAX. The man is notorious for creating drama and 'hoax' blogs to create chaotic situations. This time he decided to bring Palin down (note: the LEFT HATES HER).
The slurs against Gov. Palin are ridiculous and not even worth going into on this blog. None of them made sense from the beginning and just so the how looney the left (and left leaning 'republican's) really are.
