Bill Clinton Praises Palin

ABC news Jennifer Parks interview with Former Pres. Bill Clinton gets Palin's appeal and speaks highly of her. He did not give a ringing endorsement of Obama, but did think he would win. He also said his wife's economic plan was better.

On Gov. Palin he said, "she's a-- she's an instinctively effective candidate," he said, "And with a compelling story. I think it was exciting to some, that, that she was a woman. It was exciting that she was from Alaska. It was exciting that she's sort of like the person she is. And she grew up in a, came up in a political culture and a religious culture that is probably well to the right of the American center. But, she didn't basically define herself in those terms," Clinton said.
"She handled herself very well," he said, "I get why she's done so well. She, she's, it's a mistake to underestimate her. She's got good intuitive skills. They're significant."

Pres. Clinton also said this about McCain " former president called Republican presidential candidate John McCain "a great man" and praised GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin as an "instinctively effective candidate."

He said, ""I've never concealed my admiration and affection for Senator McCain. I think he's a great man"

High School Curriculum Should Inform Students About the Evolution Controversy; Palin (in 2006) Lets It Be Optional
Press reports on Governor Palin as the Republican nominee for Vice President featured her position in 2006 on the teaching of alternatives to evolution: "Teach both. You know, don’t be afraid of education. Healthy debate is so important, and it’s so valuable in our schools." Palin later clarified: "I don’t think there should be a prohibition against debate if it comes up in class. It doesn’t have to be part of the curriculum."

On this thin reed stand accusations that Palin is a "creationist." But if that makes someone a "creationist," then the ranks of the creationists include the Democratic party's 2008 nominee for Vice-President, both of its 2008 runners-up for the Presidential nomination, and both its 2004 nominees for President and Vice President, as well as Republican 2008 Presidential nominee McCain. In 2001, Biden, Clinton, Edwards, Kerry and McCain all voted for a mandatory teach-the-controversy approach to be the law of the United States.

It is It is the sense of the Senate that—
(1) good science education should prepare students to distinguish the data or testable theories of science from philosophical or religious claims that are made in the name of science; and
(2) where biological evolution is taught, the curriculum should help students to understand why this subject generates so much continuing controversy, and should prepare the students to be informed participants in public discussions regarding the subject.

The issue is not ignoring 'sound science', but the opportunity for DEBATE. Isn't that what we want? We do not want our children spoon fed or indoctrinated about someone else's belief system that is incorrectly stated as 'fact' without allowing for appropriate debate. And that works for both sides of the issue.

Remember: The absence of proof of G-d does not mean that G-d does not exist anymore than finding the piece of a leg bone and naming it 'Lucy' makes a whole evolutionary argument a statement of fact.

An intelligent debate must be allowed to occur if we are to teach our children to seek out facts, seek out learning, seek out information themselves and then come to their own opinions.

Oh,......Obama didn't vote......while that may seem USUAL......he hadn't yet been elected to Senate.
