Investigators find possible link with terrorism and financial crisis (not gov site, but investigators)

28 September 2008: Thanks to Right Side News for pulling together information relating to Wall Street oddities. An article written by investigative reporter Michael Webster under the title "Financial Terrorism on Wall Street?" adds additional dimension to our article (below). Excerpted:
U.S. government law enforcement agencies including the SEC, FBI and DOJ are on alert and are believed investigating terror and other related short selling illegal manipulation of the market place.It was reported that between August 26 and September 11, 2001, groups of speculators, including Middle Eastern country investors, some reported connected to terrorist such as Al Qaeda and the Ben Laden family, these groups were believed connected to predicting the demise of certain airline and buildings including the New York Trade Center. Still others were identified by the American Securities and Exchange Commission as Israeli citizens, who sold "short" a list of 38 stocks that could reasonably be expected to fall in value as a result of the pending 911 attacks. According to the reports these speculators operated out of the Toronto, Canada and Frankfurt, Germany, stock exchanges and their profits were specifically stated to be huge.
Apparently none of the suspicious transactions could be traced to Bin Laden because this news item quietly dropped from sight, leaving many people wondering if it tracked back to American firms or intelligence agencies
The feds have seen a possible similar trend operating on Wall Street recently and no end to the panic selling on Wall Street without government intervention. U.S. corporate regulator, the SEC, is seeking to ease the terror by implementing emergency rules relating to short selling.
Then there is another coincidence: The huge increase in shorting of the financials occurred on the anniversary of 9/11. And on top of that, the same institutions attacked on 9/11/01 were many of the ones suffering in recent days.
There was unusually heavy trading in airline and insurance stocks several days before September 11, 2001, which essentially bet on a drop in the worth of the stocks. The same is suspected being done on some recent failures and weakness like Lehman Brothers Holdings, Inc., Bear Stearns and others.

My editorial: Partisan politics were played today and the American people were duped. Most people are not fully aware of how the two party system works. When a 'majority' rules in Congress. When there is 'dissent' there are 'carrots and sticks' that can be used to bring members 'into line.'

95 democrats voted NO on a bill today when Pelosi declined to make the bill a 'party loyalty vote'. By calling this a 'Bush bill' or a 'Republican issue' the Democrats are LYING. The Democratic leadership of the party played political games and didn't do what they usually would do to ensure the passage of the bill. The Democrats did NOT want this bill to pass for a variety of reasons which include the Acorn issue that was removed and this economic mess plays well for Obama. It is ALL about party politics. The Democrats did NOT need Republican approval for this bill and could have passed it if they wanted to. By having 95 of their own party members vote NO they ensured it would not pass NO MATTER WHAT.

As the majority party, the Democrats bear the responsibility for this failure. If the Speaker's gavel is too heavy for Nancy Pelosi, she should give it to someone else and if the House Democrats can't lead in a time of crisis, they ought to step aside and let someone else do the work.

Ten Reasons to Oppose the Wall Street Bailout (from Michelle Malkin.com)
1. NO REFORM: The plan attempts to mask, rather than reform, imbalances in credit markets and in U.S. economic public policy. The plan props up reckless and failed banks by buying “troubled assets” instead of focusing on real reforms that go after government sponsored culprits Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and sustainable policies that will increase the availability of private capital and expanded economic growth.
2. TREASURY POWER GRAB: The plan raises Constitutional concerns by dramatically expanding the power of the current and future Treasury Secretaries, giving the government agency power to directly purchase assets from for-profit financial and non-financial firms.
3. STUNNING PRICE TAG: The $700 billion bailout figure is as much money as the combined annual budgets of the Departments of Defense, Education and Health and Human Services. It amounts to $2,300 for every man, woman, and child in America.
4. INCREASES NATIONAL DEBT: Instead of cutting spending elsewhere, Congress will borrow all $700 billion on global capital markets, and the bill raises the national debt ceiling to a staggering $11.3 trillion.
5. GLOBAL BAILOUT: The plan includes taxpayer purchases of distressed assets from foreign banks.
6. HURTS RESPONSIBLE AMERICAN BANKS: The plan punishes responsible U.S. banks by keeping reckless, insolvent investment banks in business. As BB&T CEO John Allison wrote in a letter to Congress on Sept. 23rd, “….this is primarily a bailout of poorly run financial institutions…. Corrections are not all bad. The market correction process eliminates irrational competitors.”
7. FLAWED PROCESS: Members of Congress and the public will have less than 24 hours and no hearings to discuss and understand the impact of this sweeping plan. This rush to pass a wildly unpopular plan without benefit of significant public debate and input will also undermine its legitimacy and effectiveness.
8. BY WALL STREET, FOR WALL STREET: Treasury Secretary Paulson, the architect of the plan, was formerly the head of Goldman Sachs, one of the firms responsible for the mess and a direct beneficiary of the bailout. Further, the advisers managing the bailout auctions and assets will be Wall Street firms and will likely receive billions of tax dollars in fees.
9. OTHER OPTIONS NOT EXHAUSTED: The idea that taxpayers will make money on the bailout is not credible. There are ready buyers for these “troubled assets” — Merrill Lynch sold its entire portfolio of mortgage backed securities in July– provided the price is low enough. If a profit was possible, private speculators would readily buy these troubled assets.
10. MORALLY OFFENSIVE: The plan violates basic principles of American capitalism and honest governance by creating a system of “private profits, socialized losses” that transfers money from taxpayers directly to Wall Street investment banks. Free market capitalism only functions if individuals and firms are held accountable and are allowed to both succeed and profit, and also to sustain losses and even fail.

After reading the bill and York’s article, it’s hard to disagree with York’s conclusion:
“[T]he bill’s intention was to mandate sex education, especially concerning contraception and the prevention of sexually-transmitted diseases, for children before the sixth grade and as early as kindergarten. Obama’s defenders may howl, but the bill is what it is.”

the timing appears to focus on the Tuesday following the end of Ramadan, which would be October 7, 2008. The nature of the attack is less clear.

While the contents of the message are revealing, they become even more relevant when analyzed in tandem with the threat of worldwide jihad in advance of the bombings in Yemen and Pakistan.

Would Barack Obama be likely to fulfill his campaign promises of hope and change if he were elected President?
Judged by his previous achievements the answer would have to be a resounding ‘no’.
When faced with past failures he has always tried to obscure them, and if or when that was not possible he has blamed others.
The many "successes" that he has claimed in campaign speeches were often due to the work of others but he always took but never gave credit for them.
He has steadfastly refused to answer questions relating to his days at Harvard and such omissions are a continually recurring and worrying theme.He was appointed ‘President of the Law Review’ which is something that should not be minimalized but whilst holding the post he published none of his own work and once again there is no paper trail and this pattern predates his time at Harvard.
He majored in political science at Columbia University but when asked for his senior thesis he claimed to have lost it. Its subject was the Kennedy-Khrushchev conference and the diplomatic history between America and the Soviets and it later came to light that he was wrong about all its crucial elements.
So how are we to judge him when there are no written records, no signed legal papers, no research papers that were authored or co-authored by him?A search of the ‘HeinOnline’ database of law journals turns up nothing that can be credited to Obama in any law review anywhere or at any time. In spite of an apparent eleven-year teaching career in constitutional law at a top law school there is not one single article, published talk, book review, or comment of any kind that bears the name ‘Barack Obama’.
He misjudged the constitutionality of Washington D.C.'s gun control law which is somewhat surprising given his legal background. He believed the law to be constitutional and supported it but The Supreme Court disagreed and threw out the ban. Obama then sought to distance himself from his earlier opinion and blamed an "unnamed aide" for stating that he believed that DC ban was constitutional.
Obama misinterpreted the "Born Alive" bill that came before the Illinois State Senate when he served there.The legislation was intended to address the issue of babies who were born during abortion procedures. The legislation was clear and afforded babies that were born during an abortion the protection of the law and stated that they should be treated like any other baby that was born alive and prematurely. Obama spoke out against the bill saying it would not pass "constitutional muster" but three years later, in his book ‘The Audacity of Hope’, he wrote that it would have overturned Roe v. Wade. That he was so completely wrong is more than a little disappointing for a man who prides himself on being a constitutional expert.
He told the Teamsters union that he would end the federal oversight of the union in exchange for their electoral support which is an unusual commitment to have made given that union anti-corruption efforts have until now always been treated as a legal matter and left to the Justice Department.Was Barack Obama willing to lift this monitoring which is intended to prevent crime in order to gain votes?
When it comes to the selection of Supreme Court nominees Obama disagreed with fellow Democrats over the selection of Justices Roberts and Alito and voted against their confirmation in spite of their excellent legal credentials. He would apparently use an entirely different yardstick to the tried and tested one and stated, “We need somebody who's got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it's like to be a young teenage mom. The empathy to understand what it's like to be poor, or African-American, or gay, or disabled, or old. And that's the criteria by which I'm going to be selecting my judges”.“

John McCain attempted to pass legislation to reform mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac back in 2005 but was blocked by Dems.
President Bush publicly called for GSE reform 17 times in 2008 alone and the Democratic Congress ignored him.

In defense of LIFE

Most of my early adulthood I was adamantly pro-choice. I was adamant in a woman's right to choose, no matter what......I am grateful to say that I have matured into a believer in the Sanctity of LIFE, especially for those who are unable to speak for themselves.....Those are the unborn....thoe most easily discarded of our society because they have no voice.

When this election began I did not give any thought to being pro-life or pro-choice. Roe vs Wade is so much a part of our society and our Constitution that it hasn't been an issue of thought for me because I have not seen that issue changing in our lifetime.

Things changed dramatically for me with the nomination of Barack Obama. I already had many misconceptions about him for President, but one issue has become a touchstone for me. That is Obama's EXTREME PRO-ABORTION stance. Don't believe me? Here is why.......

Now, many ardent and radical Obama believers would denounce my statement of Obama being pro-abortion as extreme. I will explain how I got there. Talk is cheap, but actions speak louder than words. The only way we can really learn more about a Presidential Candidate is by their actions, how they may have voted in Senate (or in their sphere of Government), and actual bills they may have endorsed, and their words in writing or in video......Obama has spoken and acted ardently PRO-ABORTION.

He has proven, by actions, that he not only votes pro-choice, but has supported the absolute death of a baby. A woman seeking abortion must be guaranteed a DEAD BABY. He has stated his FIRST act of Congress as President is the removal of ALL state restrictions on abortion (parental consent, term limits on abortion and fetal age, etc) AND the guarantee of partial birth abortions in ALL states.

The Born Alive Infants Act is a piece of legislation that was written to guarantee that when an infant SURVIVED an abortion then a Doctor had a legal responsibility to provide medical care. Obama voted AGAINST this act 4 times! He was the ONLY Senator in Congress to do so. Even the most devout pro-choice Senators voted FOR this act....only Obama chose NO. 4 TIMES

He stated: 1) it would add additional distress on the woman to have an actual baby survive 2) it would encumber the medical system financially to add an additional doctor 3) it would hamper Roe vs Wade. When the Bill was changed to guarantee Roe vs Wade Obama STILL VOTED NO.

This stance only makes Obama PRO-ABORTION and in no way honoring the sanctity of life.

Many have challenged me stating that Obama is Christian. I challenge ANY supposed or self-professed Christian or believer in God or Allah to examine their values in their vote. Even if a Christian/Jew/Muslim might say they are pro-choice (how I don't know), even the most secular must realize that a LIFE born is ALIVE and worth saving. Anything otherwise is murder, infanticide, and contrary to Christian beliefs on LIFE.

Those who denounce Obama's beliefs KNOW he LIES when he says he is Christian. He practices a 'non-Christian' version of a religion from the Rev. Wright Church. But this is another issue...

Obama's own words have shown that he does not value life. When asked when life began he stated the answer was 'above his pay grade' and he would not take a theological stand. When one denounces a life unborn, born and not saveable, then one can easily denounce ANY life as unworthy.

For further info, YES infants are Born Alive in abortions. Those involving saline regularly have live births. Saline: mother injected with saline, infant breathes in saline and it burns inside and out, baby is expelled....can live.....

Open Letter to My Fellow Jews: The Democratic Party is not your religion (or anybody’s)

From the days of FDR, the vast majority of American Jews have identified with the Democratic Party almost if it were their religion. This included most especially secular Jews like me whose blasé attitude toward their faith and toward religious observance in general made such a replacement all the more important emotionally. This same Jewish majority also identified with the cause of social justice and, as Barack Obama among many others has noted, were some of the most active participants in the civil rights movement of the Fifties and Sixties. That was all how it should have been and was a perfectly logical and praiseworthy epoch in the development of our country.
Hello – those days are over! The events leading up to Monday’s anti-Ahmadinejad demonstration by Jewish organizations at the UN put the final nail in an already long-moldering coffin. Jews should no longer align themselves with the Democratic Party any more than they should align with the Republicans. They should act and think for themselves, devoid of ideological or partisan bias. They should first be Americans, not Democratic Party Americans.
The reasons for this are many, but paramount among them is that being hostage to one political party is tantamount to giving up your freedom and relinquishing your ability to confront reality and act in your own interest, not to mention the interest of others. Many Jewish Americans still do this for reasons that are at best sentimental and nostalgic, and at worst self-destructive. But a tipping point may be approaching. The virtual night of the long knives played out between the Democratic Party and various Jewish organizations surrounding the Iran demonstration, including allegations that party operatives were threatening the loss of tax exempt status over Sarah Palin’s appearance, with more unpleasant revelations undoubtedly to come, is obviously causing people to reconsider this allegiance to the Democratic Party that approaches fealty.
I urge my fellow Jews to keep thinking about this and not to retreat into the cocoon-like safety of an outmoded tradition. Change is difficult. But remember that Hillary Clinton – that paragon of the Democratic Party, a woman who calls herself a “progressive” (oh, desecration of the English language!) – was willing to forego the protest of the man who is arguably the most significant enemy of the Jews since Hitler for partisan and (most likely) personal pique reasons. How morally repellent is that!
And then Joseph Biden told us he was busy–too busy to protest a nuclear-armed madman who fervently believes that his mysterious Twelfth Imam (Mahdi) is destined to unite a chaotic globe under Allah. (And don’t tell me that evangelicals believe similar things. If you think there is an equation between evangelicals and Khomeinist Islamists, you need a cold bath.)
No, those Democrats thought of themselves and their party first, the citizens of this country and the world later. When Republicans behave in a similar reprehensible manner, we should condemn them with all ferocity. But fellow Jews, stop being slaves to the Democratic Party. End this illicit love affair – not just for your own good, but for the good of humanity.

OBAMA campaign stoking racial antagonism

This campaign is turning ugly and divisive. Rush Limbaugh has recently been on the receiving end of Obama racism when his radio show was cut and spliced with interviews and sketches over the last 20 years to create racist and slanderous ads linking Rush and McCain together. These ads were then played to the spanish speaking community. The ads are a blatant fabrication and symbolic o f the depths to which the Obama campaign will lie and sink to win.

Unfortunately, these warnings went unheeded, as the President's repeated attempts to reform the supervision of these entities were thwarted by the legislative maneuvering of those who emphatically denied there were problems.

Obama 'committed Christian'? The reason the left loves him....

The Elitest LEFT doesn't understand the rest of America's distrust of Obama. The angry left says that the right is lambasting Obama for being a muslim when in fact those that oppose Obama distrust his statement that he is Christian. Christian's, for the most part, have a firm stand on not only being Pro-life, but determined to save the life of a child born AFTER abortion. Obama has repeatedly voted against saving those lives. She survives only with the assistance of respiratory, feeding and hydration tubes, and shows no sign of brain function. Doctors have indicated to Mary and Joseph that Dolly has no prospects whatsoever for recovery, and that the removal of the life-support system currently in place will cause Dolly’s death…
Would a committed Christian name the child of Mary and Joseph of Bethlehem “Dolly”? (As in ‘baby doll.’ An inanimate representation of a human being. A plaything.)
Would a committed Christian then go on to have “Dolly” sustain an injury that puts her in a vegetative state?
Would a committed Christian write a examination that sub-textually deals with the cloning of the Christ child?

The angry left would see all of this as 'no big deal', but in denouncing it as unimportant they fail note that it just identifies Obama as Not muslim, NOT Christian, and certainly not jewish. No, it appears to place Obama squarely on the side of Atheism.......and THAT, coupled with his repeatedly lies about his FAITH, make him lacking in character, lacking in committment, lacking in integrity, and lacking in good judgment. Certainly not a man fit to run the country......
